I love bright, bright colours, in big hunks and chunks. But not quite abstract. Just displaced. Detail zoomed in on. Texture and shade, folded-in-on itself to present something altogether different but recognizable. Alluring and intriguing.
Never boring. Always engaging.
I paint because it’s fun. I get energy from the colours and the challenge of painting in a realistic/pop art kind of way.
I want that joy and pleasure that I get in making my paintings, to go with them whether they stay or leave my studio. Like coming home to a bouquet of wildflowers on the the kitchen table—something unusual, unexpected, and just simply nice.
I'm a self taught artist with gallery representation in Halifax and elsewhere, as well as being featured in 2020 as an Untapped Emerging Artist at The Artist Project, Toronto.
