About the Artists
Tides Art Gallery features the work of 13 local artists, all living between Hantsport and Harbourville. We have been operating in downtown Kentville since November 2019 and are proud of what we have achieved as individual artists, and of what our little gallery has become.
We all have our own style and use different media, but together we have put together something that highlights our ability to imagine a common theme.
Show Statement
For our first joint effort, we all shared a couple of ideas of what a show could be. As is the usual procedure in our cooperative, we voted on which of the themes we felt would provide inspiration for all of us. Although most of us were still a little unsure of the final choice (drawn out of a hat from the final three), we were all committed to making an attempt. The path less taken—a common enough phrase—means what to you as an artist? That is the theme we are exploring with our first show.
Whether it means a literal path or something more philosophical is up to you, the artist or the viewer. We all come to art with a different point of view depending on our experiences. Come share yours with us. Let us know which path speaks to you and why. Talk to the artists and find out what it means to them.
