Sasha Shepherd will be offering a workshop, Painting with Flowers, at Tides Art Gallery on Sunday, September 29th at 10:00 a.m. (cost $110 all materials included). To register (8 participants), please send an email to tidescontemporaryart@gmail.com.

 

Duration 2 hours

 

Part 1:

Introduction to the art of flower pressing;

We’ll start with crash course on pressing technique. Sasha will bring her handmade (from recycle materials) press, explain how to build a press, show all materials needed for pressing flowers, and show how to press a few different varieties of flowers. 

Students will learn a few tricks and secrets of successful flower pressing and storing pressed flowers.

This part will take about 20-30 minutes.

 

Part 2:

“Painting with flowers”

Make your own Botanical collage (8 x10) ready to frame.

Sasha will provide all necessary materials (fresh flowers, hand pressed local flowers, watercolour paper, brush and glue , and frame 8 x10) and most importantly gentle guidance through creating a piece of art ready to frame.      

 

We’ll talk about composition, how to embrace your creative selves and create your own unique art.
